Adeboye Urges Pentecostal Leaders to Confront Nigeria’s Security Crisis
At the opening of the International Conference on African Pentecostalism, RCCG General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye challenged Pentecostal leaders and scholars to find practical solutions to Nigeria’s insecurity. He named kidnapping, insurgency, farmer–herder clashes and communal violence as urgent threats. Adeboye stressed that faith must translate into action and called for recommendations that can shape policy and community interventions. Speakers at the conference, themed “African Pentecostalism and the Politics of Insecurity in Nigeria,” emphasized the link between spiritual values and governance. They urged churches to support community security, promote ethical leadership and back prayers with tangible efforts. Academic and church representatives from within Nigeria and abroad joined the discussions. They highlighted the need for collaboration on research, poverty reduction and citizen empowerment alongside spiritual initiatives.
