Sabrina Carpenter Apologizes for ‘Weird’ Reaction to Arabic Celebration at Coachella

American singer Sabrina Carpenter has apologized for calling a fan’s Arabic Zaghrouta celebration call “weird” during her Coachella set. She explained her reaction came from confusion and sarcasm, not from intent to offend. Carpenter admitted she didn’t see or hear the fan clearly and could have handled it better. Writing on social media, she said she now understands what a Zaghrouta is and welcomes all cheers and yodels from fans. A Zaghrouta is a traditional celebratory yell used by women in the Middle East and North Africa at weddings and parties.

Yeah, I believe she genuinely looked puzzled rather than trying to disrespect anyone.

I get misreading situations, but it still feels off to shrug it off as mere confusion.

It's interesting that she apologized quickly yet didn't initially recognize how important that Arabic celebration call is to fans.
