How to Develop God’s Love as the Key to Excellence

Virtue is a firm disposition to do what is right. In Christ we inherit excellence in finances, health, career, academics, family and more. But the gateway to that excellence is loving God. Loving God is more than an emotion. It is a lifestyle that must be developed first and foremost. Jesus taught that the greatest commandment is to love the Lord with all your heart, soul and mind (Matthew 22:37–38). This love drives a kingdom-first priority and empowers believers to openly identify with Christ (Mark 8:38). When we love God, our faith and obedience are strengthened. This love delivers breakthroughs, revelation, answered prayers and abiding blessings (1 Corinthians 13:8; 1 Corinthians 2:9; Isaiah 65:24). As we cultivate this intimate relationship, we experience a failure-proof life and the fullness of God’s promises. Lord, fill my heart with Your love in Jesus’ name. Amen.
