Monarchs Urge Calm, Demand Ohuhu Completes Agreed Two Tenures
Traditional rulers from Umuahia North, Umuahia South and Ikwuano LGAs have met to warn against rising political tensions. They appealed for strict adherence to an existing zoning arrangement in the Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency. Speaking at a palace meeting hosted by Eze Iheanyichukwu Abel Ezeigbo of Uhabiri Umuchime Na Amanso, the Ohuhu Traditional Rulers Council stressed that each bloc should serve two House of Representatives tenures before rotation. They said honoring this long-standing agreement is essential for peace and fairness. Rulers from Ikwuano and Umuahia South pledged support and promised to remind their communities of the zoning formula. They warned that ignoring the arrangement could spark unnecessary conflict and urged all parties to choose dialogue over discord. The monarchs concluded with a unified call for political maturity, mutual respect and collective responsibility. They insisted that sustaining peace in the constituency hinges on honoring the established rotation agreement.
