Osun Central Senator Fadeyi Quits APC for PDP After Ticket Dispute

Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi has resigned from the All Progressives Congress and joined the Peoples Democratic Party. He says promised consensus and a clear ticket from President Tinubu’s camp in Osun Central were ignored. Fadeyi lost the APC primary to Kunle Adegoke despite assurances that he would run unopposed. He accused state party leaders of abandoning transparent primaries and undermining internal democracy. He affirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda but said he must honour the wishes of his Osun Central constituents. Fadeyi thanked APC members for past opportunities and looks forward to his role in the PDP.

Switching parties after losing a primary doesn't necessarily reflect deeper convictions, it can be a convenient strategy for staying politically relevant.
