Defence Minister Musa: Local Aid Keeps Terrorists Alive in Nigeria

Defence Minister Musa: Local Aid Keeps Terrorists Alive in Nigeria

Nigeria’s Defence Minister General Christopher Musa says insurgents and bandits persist because some community members support them. He spoke during a national TV discussion on Democracy Day. Musa explained that armed groups depend on food, water and intelligence from locals. He warned that modern conflict hides among ordinary people, making military operations harder. The minister urged Nigerians to report suspicious activity and to view security forces as partners rather than adversaries. He stressed that unity and citizen cooperation are vital to secure the nation and preserve democracy. He also cautioned against misinformation on social media and warned that ethnic or political divisions create openings for criminal networks.
