El-Rufai’s Bail Hearing in Kaduna Adjourned to March 31, 2026

El-Rufai’s Bail Hearing in Kaduna Adjourned to March 31, 2026

A Federal High Court in Kaduna State has postponed the bail hearing for former Governor Nasir El-Rufai to March 31, 2026. At Tuesday’s session, defence counsel Ukpon Akpan urged the court to grant bail, citing constitutional rights and time needed to prepare a defence. The prosecution opposed the application, warning that serious charges and ongoing investigations could be undermined. El-Rufai is standing trial on allegations of conversion and possession of public property and of money laundering.

I agree, this delay could allow his team to refine arguments while giving locals more time to digest the case.
