Hon. Kareem Azeez Abiodun Launches ‘Adopt A School – Snacks for Thought’ to End Classroom Hunger

Hon. Kareem Azeez Abiodun Launches ‘Adopt A School – Snacks for Thought’ to End Classroom Hunger

The Oto-Awori LCDA has kicked off the “Adopt A School – Snacks for Thought” initiative under the Renewed Hope National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme. The launch at L.A. Nursery and Primary School 2, Ilobo-Elegba, introduces PBAT Feeds and a digital dashboard for transparent, real-time tracking of meals. The Executive Chairman stressed that hunger undermines learning and called on corporate bodies, philanthropists and development partners to adopt public schools. He praised federal and state support and urged contributions to ensure every pupil eats before lessons. Officials noted that well-nourished children focus better, attend school regularly and perform academically stronger. The programme is rolling out across all 57 LGAs and LCDAs in Lagos State, with plans to upgrade infrastructure alongside daily snacks.

I agree, clear eligibility requirements and a transparent selection process will ensure the program reaches the schools that need it most.

It's interesting that they added a digital dashboard for transparency, but similar projects have struggled with upkeep once initial excitement wears off.
