3 Keys to Obeying God: Promptness, Willingness, and Wholeheartedness
Sometimes we delay obeying God’s instructions simply because they seem too hard. But delaying obedience is no different from outright disobedience. When Abraham hurried to offer Isaac and Joseph immediately fled to Egypt with Jesus and Mary, their prompt actions brought God’s protection and blessing. Obedience must also be willing and complete. Isaiah reminds us that “if you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” Yet Saul’s partial obedience in sparing the Amalekite king and the best livestock cost him everything. Partial obedience equals disobedience in God’s sight. Ask God today for the grace to obey without delay, with a willing heart, and in full. May He turn every stony heart into one of total obedience.
