Etta Defends Tinubu’s Record: Fewer Casualties, Unprecedented Infrastructure Push
Former APC Acting National Chairman Hilliard Etta has urged Nigerians to judge President Bola Tinubu’s security record by data rather than perception. He said casualty figures under the current administration are lower than under any previous government and pointed to rankings on terrorism indices. On Arise News, Etta commended the military’s performance, insisting that more insurgents have been neutralised than civilians lost. He also highlighted an infrastructure boom, noting some 2,700 kilometres of reinforced concrete roads under construction nationwide. Etta added that key economic indicators—foreign reserves, stock market capitalisation and growth rates—have improved since 2023. He conceded that benefits have yet to “trickle down to the dining tables of the average Nigerian family” but said reforms take time.
