Wolves Insider Labels Arokodare’s €26m Move ‘Regrettable’

Wolves Insider Labels Arokodare’s €26m Move ‘Regrettable’ — 1 of 2
1 / 2

A source close to Wolves has called the club’s summer signing of Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare a “regrettable” decision. The 23-year-old arrived from Genk after netting 23 goals and adding seven assists in 45 games. Signed for €26m amid interest from several clubs, Arokodare managed six goals and two assists in 33 appearances, largely as a substitute. He struggled to earn regular minutes under then-manager Vítor Pereira. Molineux insiders reveal that sporting director Domenico Teti pushed the deal through despite Pereira’s objections. This internal conflict may explain the striker’s limited role last season. With Wolves now relegated, Arokodare is widely expected to depart this summer. Turkish giants Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray are reportedly tracking his next move.

Do you think spending €26m on a 23-year-old striker with 23 goals and seven assists was worth the risk for Wolves?

It's odd that a player with such a strong scoring record can still be labeled regrettable after one summer transfer window.
