In a recent social media post, Nollywood star Yul Edochie reminded Africans to stay proudly African. He said it’s fine to adopt a few positive Western practices but cautioned against losing our identity, traditions or religion. He emphasized that our heritage is our greatest strength. He encouraged everyone to activate ancestral customs and honour guardian spirits without apology. Last year, Yul also appealed to Igbo parents to teach their children their native language. He urged Igbos in the diaspora to return home and embrace their roots. He marked his new chieftaincy title as a new dawn for Igbo youth worldwide.
