Universal Pictures Denies Unpaid Viking Ship Repairs on Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’

Universal Pictures has rejected claims that it failed to cover repair costs for the Glad av Gillberga, a replica Viking ship used in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film. The studio insists all invoices, including those for wear-and-tear, were paid in full. The dispute comes from the Swedish non-profit Värmland Vikingaleden Association, which rented the vessel and says it was only paid the rental fee. Its chairman estimates repairs at around $6,000 and says multiple emails seeking clarification went unanswered. Universal says the matter is a simple misunderstanding and that the production has reached out to resolve it.
