IAUE Schedules 44th Convocation for May 8–9, 2026; Promotes 35 to Professors, 41 to Readers

Ignatius Ajuru University of Education will hold its 44th convocation on Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9, 2026. The first day will feature the award of first degrees and prizes, while the second day will focus on postgraduate degree ceremonies. In an emergency Senate meeting, the Chairman, Professor Okechukwu Onuchuku, announced that 35 academic staff have been elevated to the rank of Professor and 41 to Associate Professor (Reader). The promotions span Administration and Management Sciences, Agriculture, Education, Humanities, Natural and Applied Sciences, Social Sciences, and Vocational and Technical Education. Professor Onuchuku congratulated the newly promoted staff and urged them to mentor junior colleagues and uphold high academic standards. The university community has praised these milestones as a sign of IAUE’s commitment to excellence and sustained growth.
