Tinubu: They’re Using Insecurity to Oust Me, but I’m Too Stubborn to Quit
President Bola Tinubu described himself as a “very stubborn politician” during a meeting with Plateau State stakeholders at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. He accused his enemies of using insecurity to try to force him out but vowed to remain in office and campaign for a second term. The President warned that those instigating or financing violence would face consequences once identified. He urged Nigerians to share credible intelligence so security agencies could act decisively against provocateurs. Tinubu also endorsed a new peace committee of former Plateau governors. He directed the group to review existing white papers on past conflicts, consolidate recommendations, and implement lasting solutions. The meeting followed a high-level engagement after the recent Angwa Rukuba killings. Former Governor Simon Lalong had called for a closed-door session with past and present leaders, including traditional rulers, to commit collectively to ending violence on Plateau.
