UTME 2027: JAMB Rolls Out Bring-Your-Own-Laptop Policy

UTME 2027: JAMB Rolls Out Bring-Your-Own-Laptop Policy

JAMB has announced that from 2027, UTME candidates can sit their exams on personal laptops under a new Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) scheme. A secure, proctored application will be installed on each device. It locks down internet access, files, and external storage. Test questions will then be delivered directly to the candidate’s machine. Registrar Professor Is-haq Oloyede revealed the policy at an examination technology workshop in Abuja. The move aims to widen access, reduce travel to CBT centres, and ease exam anxiety.

Students should test the secure exam app on their devices weeks before exam day and have backup charging options ready.
