FedPoly Oko Rector Shortlisted for Anambra Public Servant of the Year Award
The Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, has been nominated for the 2025 Anambra Public Servant of the Year Award by the organizers of the Anambra Man of the Year Awards. The recognition highlights her transformative impact since taking office. Under her leadership, the polytechnic has reactivated key facilities like the water factory, bakery, printing press, and campus radio. She also oversaw the construction of new academic buildings and a medical centre, expanded and re-accredited programmes, reduced fees, and introduced a student work-study scheme. A specialist in Physical and Materials Chemistry, Dr. Awuzie holds a PhD and has over two decades of teaching and research experience. She is a Fellow of multiple professional bodies and has published extensively. The award presentation will be held later this year in Awka.
