I have a million fantasies and ideas racing through my mind. Each voice labels me: mathematician, musician, speaker... yet none can agree which path I should follow. Just as I find comfort in thoughts of famous writers who lived poor, there’s a thunderous knock on my door. It’s Mr Gori, the landlord’s caretaker, demanding rent eighteen months overdue. He roasts me for wearing a suit like a bank manager while failing to save a million naira. Threats of thugs and eviction fill the room, and my words desert me. Alone again, I wrestle with the harsh truth: without money, brilliant ideas mean little. The future looks bleak, but perhaps the strong will weather this storm.
