Eid al-Adha Glow Up: Beauty and Self-Care Tips from Nigerian Muslim Women
As Eid al-Adha approaches, many Nigerian Muslim women treat the festival as a time for both spiritual reflection and beauty prep. We spoke to four women about their favourite routines, from henna designs and skincare tips to outfit planning and fragrance choices. For Mariam, Eid begins with gratitude and reconnecting with family. She focuses on hydration, rest and gentle exfoliation in the days before Eid, then completes her look with glowing skin, subtle makeup and henna. Aisha emphasises grooming essentials and exfoliation to ensure her makeup sits perfectly, while Fatimah leans into glamour with bold outfits, makeup and hair. Amina rounds out the group with a balanced approach to skincare, nails and fragrance selection. Beyond the physical rituals, each woman highlights the importance of internal preparation. They fast on the Day of Arafah, pray night prayers and set intentions of kindness, reflection and joy. Their shared message is clear: confidence on Eid comes from feeling authentic, connected and at peace.
