Reports of Sailors Going Overboard Raise Concerns Over USS Abraham Lincoln Deployment

Reports that several sailors attempted to go overboard from the USS Abraham Lincoln have raised concerns about crew welfare during the carrier's extended Middle East deployment. One sailor who went overboard on August 3 was rescued, medically assessed and transferred from the ship for further care, according to officials. The carrier has reportedly been deployed since November 2025 and has spent more than 200 consecutive days without a port visit. The Pentagon disputes claims that the ship is facing widespread deterioration or an unusual rise in suicide attempts.
