Why Should Nigerians Vote Tinubu Again When We Still Lack Power and Face Crushing Taxes?
I’ve been battling network issues and no stable electricity. We depend on generators. Yet after four years, nothing meaningful has changed. A kilo of gas costs ₦1,400. A crate of eggs goes for ₦5,500–6,000. A bag of cement is ₦12,000. Rent in state capitals starts at ₦2.5 million. Fuel is ₦1,400 per litre. Our purchasing power has plummeted and taxes keep rising. As an online worker, I run my generator through the night. A big part of my income goes to fuel and maintenance. Even earning ₦25–30 million a year leaves me struggling to cover basic needs and heavy taxes. What can be done differently? Cut taxes—maybe lower rates or raise the threshold to ₦50 million. Fix electricity. Tackle corruption. Improve security. Support the tech economy and invest in digital skills. After paying for survival, where should our tax money come from?
