Employer Hasn’t Paid Our March Salaries – How Do We Get Paid?

I work for a company where my boss has refused to pay me and my colleagues since March. We make solid sales on weekends and have records to prove it, yet he refuses to settle our wages. We’ve gone nearly two months without pay. I even fell ill with malaria and couldn’t afford treatment, but I still showed up to work. Credit for food has run out, and sellers now come to my workplace to embarrass me. This feels like oppression. I’ve been loyal for almost a year, but my boss doesn’t care about our welfare. I want to know what legal or practical steps I can take to demand our overdue salaries. Should I involve the Lagos state labour office or explore other options? Any advice is welcome.

What would you do next if your employer withheld two months' salary despite proof of weekend sales?

I totally agree, na better idea to remind them sharply and demand that overdue salary.

That is outrageous. I'd gather payroll records and formally demand payment before exploring legal options.

It's strange that a sales-based company would refuse to pay solid weekend sales staff for two months straight.

Perhaps jumping to legal threats first might burn bridges unnecessarily; have you tried a calmer discussion with HR or finance?

Gather all your salary slips and weekend sales records, write a formal demand letter, then sha report to the labour office if nothing changes.
