Maikaba Names Assistants as Flying Eagles Reconvene for WAFU B U-20 Championship
Abdu Maikaba has unveiled his backroom staff ahead of the Flying Eagles camp. Ortega Deniran will serve as first assistant, Abdullahi Biffo as second assistant and Usman Mohammed as goalkeepers’ trainer. The squad will return to Abuja on Sunday, 17 May to begin preparations for the WAFU B U-20 Boys Championship in July. That tournament doubles as Nigeria’s qualifier for the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, a competition the Flying Eagles have won seven times. On the youth front, Golden Eaglets coach Eboboritse Uwejamomere has appointed Olumide Joseph Ajibolade and Mohammed Kalli Kachala as his assistants. Abdullahi Isa will work as the goalkeepers’ trainer as they gear up for the WAFU B U-17 Boys Championship in September and next year’s Africa U-17 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
