Ogun Women Run Winners Paid Promptly as Top Athletes Praise Organisers
The organisers of the Ogun Women Run have confirmed that all prize monies were paid within a week of the event in Abeokuta. Adebayo Adeyemi Rashidat, the overall winner, received her ₦500,000 prize after completing the 5km race in 30:15.61. Second-place finisher Alawode Omotayo Adiat (31:09.46) and third-place athlete Akanni Oluwanifemi (31:18.65) each collected their ₦300,000 and ₦200,000 awards. Each winner expressed gratitude for the prompt payments and highlighted the organisers’ professionalism and transparency. The swift disbursement has reinforced the credibility of the race and encouraged greater participation in women’s fitness events. Organised by Brussel Sports Management Limited with support from the Ogun State Government and industry stakeholders, the race attracted about 1,000 women. It was widely praised for promoting wellness, empowerment, and athletic excellence.
