Why I’m Thinking of Turning Down the Deputy Governor’s Son’s Proposal
I met one of the deputy governor’s sons from a western state in the UK while I was in Canada. We became friends and he grew close to my brothers. Now he has asked me to marry him. He is smart, calm, responsible and very handsome. I genuinely like him, but I have three major concerns. My three reservations: • He is Muslim while I am Christian, and I have no plans to convert. • I value speaking my native dialect and want to teach it to our children. • I am a year older than him and have always pictured my husband being older and leading our home. What do you think about my concerns?
