Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar Wins APC Bauchi Governorship Primary with 57,517 Votes
Former Bauchi State governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar emerged as the winner of the APC governorship primary on Friday, May 22. He secured 57,517 votes, defeating six other aspirants. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar scored 26,001 votes, while Nura Manu Soro and Bala Maijama’a A. Wunti polled 13,638 and 13,648 votes respectively. Kabir Baba Ma’aji received 8,157 votes, Baba Abubakar Suleiman got 7,688, and Yakubu Abdullahi scored 7,181. AIG (retd) John Bassey Abang announced the results early Saturday. Abubakar now becomes the APC flag bearer for the 2027 governorship election. He previously served from 2015 to 2019 before losing re-election to Governor Bala Mohammed.
