Adebayo Claims Tinubu Seeks to Control INEC and Judiciary

Social Democratic Party candidate Adewole Adebayo has accused President Bola Tinubu of undermining democracy ahead of the 2027 election. Speaking on ARISE News, Adebayo alleged the president was acting as “candidate general” for opposition parties while trying to chair the Independent National Electoral Commission and serve as a part-time Chief Justice. He dismissed rival claims by Akinbola Atanda to be an SDP presidential aspirant, comparing it to someone wrongly claiming to be the Pope. Adebayo warned the ruling party was using pseudo candidates and staged primaries to avoid genuine competition.

Do you think Adebayo's claim that Tinubu is acting like a "candidate general" for opposition parties holds any weight?

It's interesting that Adebayo frames Tinubu's alleged moves as undermining democracy without offering concrete evidence on how he'd chair INEC or the courts.

Hmm, claiming Tinubu plans to hijack INEC needs more proof. We shouldn't paint him villain without firm evidence.

That accusation seems stretched—politicians often trade blame for mobilizing support, but direct control of INEC and courts is a bold leap.

Before drawing conclusions, examine official INEC statements and judicial processes documentation to see if there's any procedural irregularity hinting at political interference.
