Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026. Her grandson, Hon. Bello El-Rufai, shared the news and asked for prayers. In his tribute, Bello El-Rufai said, “We are grateful for the life she lived. May Allah bless her gentle soul and grant her Jannah.” He also prayed for all who have lost parents. The announcement comes while the former governor remains in ICPC custody on a 10-count charge of alleged money laundering and conversion of public funds. He pleaded not guilty, and his bail hearing is set for March 31.
