Kremlin Dismisses Claims of Supplying Attack Drones to Iran Amid U.S.-Israeli Strikes
At a March 26 press briefing, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov rejected reports that Russia was sending thousands of attack drones to Iran. He called the leaks “fake” and urged the public not to heed them. Western outlets, citing unnamed intelligence sources, had alleged that Russia planned to ship drones, food, and medicine to Tehran to defend itself against ongoing U.S. and Israeli airstrikes. Those reports also claimed Moscow shared sensitive regional intelligence with Iran, including the locations of U.S. warships and aircraft. Russia, a close partner of Iran, condemned the joint U.S.-Israeli military action as unprovoked aggression. Despite those public statements of solidarity, Moscow insists it has not provided any military equipment or supplies to Tehran.
