VDM’s Return Sparks Massive Anti-Government Protest at Abuja Airport

Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), led an immediate protest against government and security agencies upon his return to Abuja from China. His supporters, the Ratel Movement, thronged Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and surrounding roads to form a human shield. There was widespread speculation that the Department of State Services planned to detain him on arrival. The large turnout demonstrated his influence and ignited debates about freedom of expression and state power.

What do you think motivated VDM and his supporters to immediately protest the government at the airport?

I agree, their anger at unmet promises and poor governance likely pushed them to protest straight away.

It's interesting how a single influencer like VDM could rally thousands so quickly, but I wonder if there were other factors at play.

I'm not convinced a protest at an airport is the best way to challenge security agencies, it risks public safety more than pressure.

Authorities and organizers should plan clear routes and permissions to avoid chaos while ensuring that voices like VDM's are heard safely and legally.
