Archbishop Igwe Calls on INEC and Leaders to Deliver Free, Fair 2027 Elections

The Methodist Archbishop of Ebonyi, Most Rev. Dr. Chikwendu Ogan Igwe, has urged INEC and Nigerian leaders to ensure the 2027 general elections are free, fair and credible. He encouraged citizens to obtain their voter cards, participate actively and vote for leaders who will drive positive change and ease economic hardship. Speaking after the 32nd Annual Synod of the Methodist Church Nigeria in Abakaliki, he highlighted security challenges, rising inflation and poor infrastructure. He called on federal and state governments to tackle terrorism, repair rural roads and implement policies to alleviate suffering. The Synod also commended national programmes under the Renewed Hope Agenda and praised the Ebonyi governor’s People’s Charter of Needs. It stressed the need for youth job creation, church property development and steadfast faith, affirming that God will fight for Nigeria in these challenging times.
