February 2026 VAT Revenue Allocation: Contributions vs. Receipts by State

In February 2026, FAAC distributed over ₦1.4 trillion in VAT revenues to all 36 states and the FCT. Lagos led contributions with ₦215.34 billion but received just 24% of its share back. Kano, Borno and Jigawa topped the list of highest beneficiaries relative to their contributions. Five highest contributors: • Lagos – ₦215.34 bn (Received ₦51.93 bn) • Rivers – ₦110.78 bn (Received ₦29.22 bn) • Oyo – ₦28.30 bn (Received ₦12.97 bn) States receiving more than double their contributions included Kaduna, Anambra and Ondo. At the bottom of the contribution list, Cross River paid just ₦679.58 m but received ₦6.14 bn. Full breakdown of each state’s VAT input and allocation is available from FAAC data.
