Gani Adams Urges Yoruba Monarchs to Unite Against Rising Insecurity

The Yoruba One Voice Worldwide conference, convened by Aare Ona Kakanfo Iba Gani Adams, has rallied traditional rulers across Yorubaland to form a united front against growing insecurity. Delegates highlighted recent abductions in Oyo State and warned that kidnapping, banditry and violent attacks now threaten the entire South-West region. They urged community leaders, security agencies and the federal and state governments to collaborate on intelligence sharing and adopt decentralised policing. In a communiqué, the group condemned the failure to heed early warnings about criminal infiltration and called for legislative action to establish state and local government police. Participants also stressed community vigilance and investment in rural security infrastructure as key steps to safeguard Yorubaland. The conference featured security experts, cultural advocates and opinion leaders who stressed that unity of purpose, strategic partnerships and grassroots engagement are essential to restoring peace, progress and prosperity across the region.
