Why Kenneth Okonkwo Quit Nollywood for Politics—and Takes Aim at Victor Umeh’s Red Cap
Nollywood veteran Kenneth Okonkwo has announced he’s stepping away from acting to devote himself fully to his political career. Speaking on Symfoni Television, the ADC chieftain dismissed Senator Victor Umeh’s claim that his recent relevance depends on Peter Obi’s popularity. Okonkwo stressed he earned his fame and financial independence through talent and hard work. He recalled rising to national stardom at 24 and noted that producers still approach him despite his last film role being the 2020 Living in Bondage remake. Okonkwo then joked that Umeh’s red Igbo cap finally explained why villains wear it in movies.
