She explained the post was scheduled in advance and she could not stop it in time. Chukwu said she does not owe anyone an explanation. She added that social media is her personal space and no one can dictate her emotions. Fellow actresses Sarah Martins and Zainab Bakare also faced backlash after sharing tearful tributes to Ekubo. They were accused of performing for attention rather than mourning a friend. Bakare later revealed that a troll sent hateful messages to her father. She lamented that online users often test people’s patience.
