An X user reports that he and three fellow Nigerians have been held at Johannesburg airport despite valid documents. Their phones were seized, and authorities refused to let them book a return flight. This incident exposes the trap of ethnic bigotry. Those who fuel Igbo hate at home validate profiling abroad. Now the very people who cheered on others’ suffering face the same injustice. From my vantage point in Scandinavia, I see how our division plays into external persecution. It’s time to end Igbo hate and stand united, or we all risk becoming targets.
