Ogun Pupils Shine at AETP Agricultural Quiz and Debate Finale
The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) have wrapped up the state finals of the Agricultural Education Training Programme (AETP) quiz and debate for primary and junior secondary schools under the 2018/2019 UBE intervention. At Imo Methodist Primary School, Chairman of SUBEB, Evang. Olalekan Ifede, highlighted agriculture as a key driver of Nigeria’s economy. He urged pupils to explore livestock and crop production early and reminded parents to ensure their children are well nourished before school. Permanent Member III of SUBEB, Hon. Abiodun Ajayi, called for practical farming skills alongside theory. In a goodwill message, the State Chairman of AOPSHON commended improvements in basic education standards across Ogun. In the primary debate, Alhaja Kudirat Abiola Primary School took first place. Moslem Primary School Isoku and Local Government Primary School Obalende led the quiz categories. Salawu Abiola Comprehensive School topped the junior secondary quiz, followed by Molusi College and Makun High School.
