Nigeria Records 150 Terrorism Convictions in First Two Days of Mass Trials
The Federal Government secured about 150 convictions within the first two days of its latest mass terrorism trials. The trials began on 15 June 2026 at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Ten judges are hearing over 300 cases simultaneously. On day one, 160 cases were heard and roughly 150 defendants were convicted. On the second day, another 300 cases were presented with 84 expected to conclude before close of business. Attorney-General Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi urged patience and stressed that this phase reflects the administration’s firm stance against terrorism. The exercise is ongoing until all cases are resolved.
