Catherine Louise “Katey” Sagal is an American actress and singer who rose to fame as Peg Bundy in Married… with Children. She later voiced Leela on Futurama and won a Golden Globe for her role as Gemma Teller Morrow on Sons of Anarchy. Born in Los Angeles in 1954, Sagal comes from a show-business family. Her father was TV director Boris Sagal and her mother worked in music and television writing. She trained at the California Institute of the Arts and began performing as a backup singer for major artists. Over five decades, Sagal has balanced music and acting. She toured with Bette Midler’s Harlettes and released two solo albums. On screen, she starred in 8 Simple Rules and The Conners, and also contributed to the Sons of Anarchy soundtrack. In her personal life, Sagal has three children and endured a public pregnancy loss that inspired her songwriting. She married producer Kurt Sutter in 2004 and remains active in both television and music projects.
