Rita Nwadike Confident Super Falcons Can Defend WAFCON Crown in Morocco
Former international Rita Nwadike has backed the Super Falcons to retain their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco. She highlighted the squad’s blend of quality players, experienced professionals and a strong technical crew. Nwadike urged the team to approach each match with determination, discipline and the winning mentality that has defined Nigerian women’s football for decades. She also called on Nigerians to rally behind the players with prayers and unwavering support throughout the tournament. Recalling her milestone as the scorer of Nigeria’s first FIFA Women’s World Cup goal, Nwadike described wearing the green and white as one of football’s greatest honours. The Falcons aim for an 11th WAFCON crown as they begin Group C play against Malawi, Zambia and Egypt this July. The tournament also serves as qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
