INEC Unveils Schedule for 2027 Election Primaries

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun formal preparations for Nigeria’s 2027 general elections. Under the Electoral Act 2022 and INEC’s revised timetable, parties must hold their primaries within this period and submit membership registers at least 21 days before their primaries. The deadline for register submission is May 10, 2026. Parties must also resolve any internal disputes arising from their selection processes.
