1 / 12

On May 20, Sokoto State Hisbah officers stormed a suspected brothel in Cilma ward and detained 11 men and women. The raid was launched after a community tip-off. Led by Acting Commander Imam Sirajo Abubakar, the operation formed part of the state’s drive to curb immoral activities. The premises were sealed for further investigation and the suspects will face charges under Sharia law. The Hisbah Board warned anyone involved in similar acts to desist or face consequences. Residents have applauded the move and are encouraged to report suspicious activities.
