Agbedi: Jonathan’s 2027 Presidential Bid Will Shake Up Nigeria’s Political Scene

Fred Agbedi says former President Goodluck Jonathan’s entry will upend the political landscape. He confirmed Jonathan will contest the 2027 election under the PDP banner. The race already features Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Omoyele Sowore as they all seek to challenge President Bola Tinubu. Agbedi argued that Jonathan is more qualified than ever to lead Nigeria. He noted that after eight years under Buhari and three under Tinubu, Nigerians want a tested and trusted leader for stability. A federal court recently upheld Jonathan’s eligibility. Justice Peter Lifu dismissed a suit aimed at blocking him and fined the plaintiff for lacking legal standing.
