Fix Insecurity or Resign, Apostle Suleman Warns Tinubu

Fix Insecurity or Resign, Apostle Suleman Warns Tinubu

Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has urged President Bola Tinubu to step down if he cannot address the country’s mounting security crisis. He made the call during a recent sermon, highlighting the urgency of tackling violent extremism. Suleman identified the sponsors of terrorism as Nigeria’s core problem and demanded their immediate arrest and prosecution. He warned that without rooting out the backers, efforts against insurgents will only scatter the threat. The pastor also commended Nigeria’s security forces, stating that the Army, Police, and DSS rank among the best globally. He urged the government to target those who finance attacks rather than just the foot soldiers on the frontlines.

What impact do you think such a direct warning from a religious leader will have on the government's approach to security?

I get you! That no-nonsense warning could jolt them into actually stepping up security.

It's striking that Apostle Suleman is pushing for resignation, not just asking for better policies against violent extremism in the country.

I understand the frustration, but resignation talk alone fits the noise. Dem don hear plenty sermons without real change already.

Perhaps setting up a joint panel with security experts and civil society could offer realistic steps toward improving safety before considering drastic measures.
