APC’s Williams and Ekpere Reject Primary Results, Say No Poll Held in Cross River Central
APC aspirants for Cross River Central, Eteng Jones Williams and Mary Ekpere, have rejected the primary outcome being circulated. They insist no voting took place in any of the zone’s 66 wards and allege the figures were fabricated. They say party officials never showed up in many communities, including Williams’ ward of over a thousand voters, where supporters waited until 8pm without any materials or officials to conduct the poll. Williams also claims that primaries materials were handed over to state government officials and results announced at an undisclosed location. Both aspirants urge supporters to ignore the purported outcome and call on party leadership to probe the alleged irregularities. They demand that only cleared candidates take part in a free and fair primary.
