Derby Drama: Enyimba Triumphs Over Abia Warriors as Rivers United Reclaim Summit

Enyimba edged Abia Warriors 2-1 in a thrilling Oriental derby at Aba. Chidera Michael broke the deadlock in the 61st minute. Emeka Obioma levelled just before full time, but Michael struck again in stoppage time to secure victory for the hosts. Rivers United reclaimed top spot with a 4-2 win over Kun Khalifat in Port Harcourt. Aniekeme Okon opened the scoring before Kun Khalifat’s equaliser. By half-time Handsome Surveyor put Rivers ahead, and Iyowuna Douglas added a brace to seal the win. Remo Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by El-Kanemi Warriors. Adewale Yusuf struck early, but Victor Mbaoma pegged back the visitors. At Ibadan’s Lekan Salami Stadium, Shooting Stars overcame Rangers 3-1 thanks to goals from Sodiq Ibrahim, Desmond Ojietefian, and Adams Mustapha. Other weekend results included Bayelsa United’s 4-1 win over Kano Pillars, Ikorodu City’s 4-3 victory against Wolves, a goalless draw between Barau and Katsina United, and Tornadoes’ 2-0 success over Wikki Tourists.
