Youths Propel Spike in Enugu’s Voter Registration, INEC Reports
The Independent National Electoral Commission in Enugu State has welcomed a marked increase in Continuous Voter Registration at all its centres. Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr Chukwuemeka Chukwu highlighted that each centre now records at least 100 fresh applicants daily. He noted that young Nigerians aged 18 to 25 are leading the surge as the exercise approaches its July deadline. Increased registration could bring additional polling units, wards, and even constituencies to the state. INEC has partnered with the National Identity Management Commission to link the Permanent Voter’s Card with the National Identity Number. This integration makes the PVC a vital national ID, complete with personal address, polling unit, and ward details.
