Messi Stars as Inter Miami Breaks in Nu Stadium with 2-2 Thriller
Inter Miami officially opened Nu Stadium amid pomp and jubilation. Marc Anthony led the anthem and co-owner David Beckham cut the ribbon before a sell-out crowd of 26,700. Austin FC struck first via Guilherme Biro’s header in the sixth minute. Messi responded within four minutes, finishing a sublime team move to score the first home goal. The visitors regained the lead early in the second half, and Messi rattled the woodwork twice from set pieces. Luis Suárez levelled the score late on, securing a 2–2 draw. Despite defensive lapses and a goal drought for new signing Germán Berterame, the evening belonged to the atmosphere. Inter Miami now look ahead to next Saturday’s clash with Red Bull New York.
