AE-FUNAI’s Faculty of Environmental Sciences Celebrates Outstanding Staff at 2026 Service Awards
The Faculty of Environmental Sciences at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo held its 2026 Distinguished Service Awards to honour staff whose dedication and professionalism have driven the faculty’s growth. Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Ejiaga praised the recognition programme as a strategic investment in human capital. He commended faculty leaders for fostering a culture that rewards hard work and inspires service to the university and the nation. In his keynote lecture, Prof. Robert Onyeneke urged environmental scientists to uphold integrity, accountability and transparency. He stressed that their work is vital to Nigeria’s development and called on staff to lead in policy, planning and environmental governance. Dr. Samuel Echem, speaking for the awardees, described the honour as humbling and motivating. He thanked faculty leadership for the recognition and pledged to maintain and exceed the standards of excellence that earned them the award.
