Gombe Federal Rep Yaya Bauchi Tongo Dies in Abuja
Rep. Yaya Bauchi Tongo, who represented Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye in the House of Representatives, passed away in Abuja on Friday after a brief illness. A seasoned grassroots politician, he previously chaired Funakaye Local Government, served as special adviser to the Gombe State government and was a member of the state assembly before joining the federal legislature. He also led the Nigeria–UAE Parliamentary Friendship Group. The House leadership paid tribute to his dedicated service to his constituents and the nation. Condolences have been extended to his family and the people of Gombe. Details of parliamentary tributes and funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
